Project Winery

The owner's of this winery hailed from Piedmont, Italy and bought a piece of land in Niagara with an old barn they wanted to convert into a winery tasting room, restaurant, spa and guest suits. They desired a design that incorporated the charming and rustic details of both Italian and Western architecture. I paid homage to the bones of the barn by showcasing its beautiful rustic beams and was able to avoid demolishing it, as it was in both mine and my clients interest to keep the project as sustainable as possible. With this, I was able to honour the buildings structural integrity and beauty but create a more contemporary design, adding grandeur while maintaining a serene ambiance. The dimensions of the space were carefully analyzed and the design was constructed to maximize the building's potential and the customer experience. We strategized the primary traffic zones to generate a harmonious flow and elegant design.
